This past weekend was just about perfect. Sunny, warm, clear skies and some free time to soak it all in. When the weather is like this, I just want to get moving and feel motivated to do more! It's an ideal time to think about some Summer goals!
We tend to think about goals at the beginning of the year but why not at the beginning of the Summer, too? For many schedules change a bit, the days are longer and the sunshine sure helps our mood, too. It's an ideal time, in my opinion, to take on some new goals!!
So here are my Summer goals:
1. Run more trails! This is something I love to do and Summer is a great time to hit the trails. I ran at Veterans Park on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend and loved every minute of it.
2. Work on backbends and handstands. This has been a goal of mine for a while but now it's time to put the work in consistently in the studio and make it happen! I'm already seeing a bit of progress and hope to be sharing some success videos by the end of Summer!
3. Grow my personal Pilates practice while growing my Pilates business. It's important for me to keep growing, practicing and learning so I am ready for whoever walks in that door. I also want to be able to continue to challenge my students so that means I need to keep challenging myself.
And at the same time, I'm eager to spread that PIlates magic to more folks in Lexington. I have a couple continuing education trips planned - the McEntire Pilates Summit where I will also be a presenter and also the PMA Pilates Conference this Fall. And locally to reach more people, I will be teaching a class on June 30th at the Summit at Fritz Farm for Athleta as part of the Summer Sweat Series. 4. Begin the groundwork for offering my own Pilates Teacher Training program at Shine Pilates! This is something I am so excited to be working on developing - a chance to train new instructors and impact more students by creating new teachers to share Pilates.
